# Cyber Security Defense Network Senior Specialist

## JOB PURPOSE

MSC Cruises is seeking a Cyber Security Network Senior Specialist to join its Cyber Defense team.
This role is suited to an experienced professional with approximately 5-8 years of experience in Cyber Security, Network Security, Security Infrastructure, or Network Engineering, able to work autonomously on complex technical activities and provide specialist advice in security policy engineering, traffic analysis, network security technologies, and security posture improvement.
The position focuses on the autonomous execution and delivery of complex technical assessments, implementation and troubleshooting activities, specialist support to stakeholders, and continuous improvement of enterprise network security controls. The role also supports less-experienced colleagues by sharing practical guidance and established methods.

## KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

•    Execute complex reviews and optimization activities for security policies across enterprise security platforms.
•    Deliver specialist technical support for network security design initiatives and secure connectivity projects.
•    Apply advanced traffic flow analysis and application visibility techniques to identify control gaps and improvement opportunities.
•    Test and validate security controls and advise stakeholders on policy effectiveness and remediation options.
•    Execute IPS/IDS implementation, tuning, optimization, and performance impact assessments with appropriate autonomy.
•    Troubleshoot complex technical issues, support root cause analysis, and assist with security assessments.
•    Document technical findings, operational procedures, and specialist recommendations.
•    Apply cybersecurity standards and best practices consistently and support continuous improvement activities.
•    Support less-experienced colleagues through practical guidance, knowledge sharing, and quality review of assigned technical activities.

## QUALIFICATIONS (skills, competencies, experience)

Education Requirements
•    Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, Telecommunications, Engineering, or a related discipline.
•    Equivalent education and relevant professional experience may be considered.
•    Fluent Italian (written and spoken) is required.
•    Fluent English (written and spoken) is required.
Professional Experience
•    Typically 5-8 years of relevant experience in: Network Security, Cyber Security, Security Infrastructure, Network Engineering.
•    Demonstrated experience in security policy engineering, traffic analysis, secure connectivity, security control validation, complex technical troubleshooting, and security implementation activities is expected. Experience providing specialist advice or practical support to less-experienced colleagues is beneficial.

Ideal Candidate Profile
•    An experienced cybersecurity professional with strong expertise in network security, security policy engineering, traffic analysis, and security control assessment. The ideal candidate works autonomously on complex technical activities, applies established methods and standards consistently, provides practical specialist advice, and supports less-experienced colleagues while maintaining high-quality delivery in a global enterprise environment.
•    Experience with Palo Alto Networks and Check Point platforms is highly desirable, particularly in policy analysis, application visibility, threat prevention, and security posture improvement.

## WHAT WE OFFER

In compliance with the applicable pay transparency legislation, the following information is provided regarding the initial compensation foreseen for the position.
**Contract** 
-    Type of contract: Permanent
-    Hybrid working model: 2 days per week remotely
-    Applicable Collective Labour Agreement (CCNL): “Addetti agli uffici ed ai terminals delle società di navigazione che esercitano l’armamento privato” – sez. personale di terra
-    Gross annual salary (RAL): between €38.000 – €42.000 gross per year, paid over 14 monthly installments
-    Meal vouchers: worth €8 per on-site working day
The offer in terms of salary will be determined based on the candidate’s professional experience, technical competencies, and the level of autonomy and responsibility assigned to the role.
